Company development of Siku (abbreviated name for SIeper et KUnststoffe wich mean "plastic")
Richard Sieper built a foundry in Lüdenscheid in 1921. The company produced aluminium cutlery until 1923.
In 1933, a new material plastic was experimented. Already in 1943, a second production facility was built to produce buttons.
The brand name SIKU was created and registered in 1950. The range of toys was consisting of 16 figures, farm animals, an aquarium with fish and snow-shaker.
This is the starting of Siku 32 models cars in 1/60 scale and over 400 subsidiary products in plastic. SIKU grew to become a permanent part of the toy trade's top priority products. The first planes SIKU in scale 1:250 appeared in 1959.
1963 marked the beginning of a complete change to production, with 16 models cars produced in zinc die-cast. 66 models in diecast metal were produced until 1972 in 1/60 scale and 1/55 scale. The first models of Siku 1/32 farmer were produced.
Siku tractor, Claas, Siku mercedes, Deutz, siku traktor, John Deere, Fendt, siku super, etc.
In 1996, more than 200 models are present in the world. The buildings contains in car terms 27 million vehicles and 3 millions of Siku tractor.
The Farmer Classic serie starts in 2002 and shows the models of Siku 1:32 tractors with old-timer tractor models and details close to the original..
The serie SIKU CONTROL is created in 2004 with the first siku control tractors remote-controlled.
SUPER CLASSIC is a serie in 1/50 scale with old-timer fire engine models, where detail is very close to the original.
2007 is the year of the product area of SIKU CONTROL 32 with the launch of a new radio-controlled generation of models like the truck with the Man lowboy, Siku 6720 et Siku 6721.
